Manager Steve Bruce has admitted it was a hugely frustrating day against Ipswich Town at Portman Road last weekend.

Playing out a 1-1 draw with Jonathan Kodjia getting back on the scoresheet as summer signing John McGinn grabbed the assist, it was a disappointing day as with the hosts down to ten men we just didn’t do enough to take all three points.

The game did carry more disappointments than positives as another individual error from Orjan Nyland cost us the goal and we then seemed to stall.

Bruce was even left slightly joking that although he saw the sending off was the right call, he wished the referee had left him on as until that point we were actually playing better on the day.

Suffice to say Kodjia and McGinn come in for plenty of praise and on the Kodjia front, he needed the goal so hopefully that will more propel him back to the form we know he’s capable of as his confidence grows now.

Onto Brentford in midweek now and we know categorically we have to be better than that if we want a result from it.
