Speculation has been rife suggesting that Aston Villa had a long-standing interest in Bristol City left-back Joe Bryan and having put summer cash flow problems behind us, it was being reported this evening that he could quickly join John McGinn as another summer capture for manager Steve Bruce.
Sky Sports had reported that Bryan had undergone a medical today and all that remained was final agreement on personal terms and he would become our latest addition for a speculated £5million.
The 24-year-old is highly rated indeed and certainly wouldn’t be a bad addition, but later on in the evening they were reporting that Fulham had come in and matched our offer and they can obviously add the promise of Premier League football after last season’s first half FUBAR at Wembley.
Interestingly, Sky by this point were saying we’d agreed a £6million fee for the player.
Expect it to be £7million by the time a decision is made tomorrow!
