Gabby Agbonlahor has admitted that he first thought he had received some real damage in the game against Chicago.
Speaking to the Birmingham Mail Gabby said:
‘I thought it was a really bad injury at the time so it’s a relief to be told that it’s not going to keep me out for too long. We played really well again as a team and obviously it’s disappointing to pick up an injury, but I’m told it’s not as bad as it could have been.’
Gabby is set for a scan today in Portland, so hopefully as I’ve said previously, that will clear everything up and it will be only a fortnight issue. In the meantime both Gabby and Darren Bent will receive treatment from Roddy MacDonald and will remain with the team.
As it stands, Paul Lambert is also going with the fortnight theory:
‘I think Gabby will be a couple of weeks to be honest. It’s his knee and I think he just turned arkwardly. I was talking to the medical people and they think it’s not too bad. Gabby’s very quick and I thought his whole round game was excellent.’
