Gabor Kiraly has lambasted himself following his performance for Villa against Chelsea on Tuesday night.

The Hungarian keeper, currently on loan from Crystal Palace told Nemzeti Sport:

‘Since I’m here this was my poorest performance. Put simply, I’m not satisfied with myself. I wasn’t successful with my kicking, sometimes I didn’t get the distance. I should’ve reacted differently at some situations and on one occasion, I let the ball slip from my fingers. I have to admit it’s not my doing that Chelsea didn’t score a goal.’

How refreshing to hear a bit of honesty from a player!

He added: ‘My last goalless game was on the 23rd September, so I’m happy with the final result. But football is like this, sometimes you feel that you’re doing your job well between the posts and concede three goals and sometimes you feel not at your best and concede no goals at all.’

Thomas Sorensen is said to be close to a return following knee surgery and Kiraly’s loan spell at Villa is set to end on 14th January. Meanwhile Palace boss Peter Taylor has given Villa the green light to use Kiraly in this weekends FA Cup game against Manchester United after saying, ‘If Aston Villa need Gabor for the FA Cup, then we are willing to allow him to play for them.’
