Marc Albrighton believes that Gary Gardner has all the attributes to be our new Barry or Milner in the middle of the park.

Speaking to the Official Site Albrighton said that with the experience and confidence gained from last campaign, Gardner should be well positioned to push on and develop further and reach the potential we all think he has to dominate the centre of midfield for years to come.

‘Not so long ago Gareth Barry was playing in there, James Milner was playing in there too. Gary Gardner played there last season for a good spell, that should give him plenty of confidence. If he can build on his performances of last season it would be fantastic and there’s no reason why he can’t, he has the talent and the desire.’

With a new manager coming in, presumably Paul Lambert, next season is going to be a big season for the non seniors as they all look to impress the man and cement their place in the match day squad.

Be interesting to see how they all get on, as whilst all of them had good moments last season, each of them still have to show they can develop more, become more consistent and cut out the errors they will naturally make as they learn.
