The England U21’s play Germany tonight having already guaranteed a semi-final place in the Euro Championships.

The game kicks off at 7:45pm and is on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports HD.

It isn’t clear yet whether Gabby Agbonlahor has recovered from his calf injury in time to play but he has taken part in a ‘light training session’ over the weekend.

Meanwhile James Milner who bossed the last game (v Spain) has been a naughty boy and is suspended! As Craig Gardner replaced him in the 84th minute of the last game, maybe he’ll be the automatic replacement tonight?

As we have qualified, you’d hope that Gabby is rested if there is any doubt.. or rested full stop..?

There is plenty on the FA site including the ambitions of Stuart Pearce: Click Here

He says – with England U21’s having a good record v Germany, ‘We feel we have pace and power in our squad. Look at Fraizer Campbell, Gabriel Agbonlahor, Adam Johnson, Theo Walcott, James Milner. We’ve got pace on the counter-attack and the modern game is about the counter-attack.’

Mark Noble says the team are focused on winning the clash tonight. ‘ It was a great win for us on Thursday and has set us up nicely for the semi-final, but we still have one more group game to win tonight.’ Adding, ‘But just because we are through, we’re not going to take it easy, we want to win the game, finish top of the group and send out a message to the others teams.’

And don’t forget Vital Villa is also there! www.facebook.com/pages/Near-Villa-Park/Vital-Villa When I say ‘there’ I don’t mean at the U21’s game… sadly… just on facebook!

  • But he will more than likely not play in his best position of centre midfield. i like Gardener a lot but he’s no winger.

  • woooooowww whats just happend to vital only be away for ten mins and zap its all diffrent NICE…………

  • This could be the last straw for Craig , being kept out by Muamba and Cattermole might just mean he thinks he’ll need a move for 1st team football . Noble is a good player but those other two are a pair of future journey men.
Gardner is no winger so why put him in on the wing.

  • he is captain, he is on the right of a midfield 3, the two wide strikers will drop deeper and act as wingers,
noble is pants he does nothin but provide energy.
muamba has impressed me when i seen him play and cattermole too

  • 1-1 Gardener took the corner which resulted in our equaliser. Great ball in fact.

While we’re talking about the German’s I noticed today in an old paper that Arsenal are after Thomas Hitzlesperger. NO!!! I’d love to have Da Hammer back at VP.

  • Excuse me Fear, I hate to put the wind up the re-design but having an advert in the middle of all the news posts is oh-so-very annoying!

  • to be fair Matt_Us, so is the recession and Vital has to pay its way. So spare a thought, and click on them whether you like the position or not! :o)
