Martin O’Neill is quoted in the papers today saying that Villa skipper Gareth Barry isn’t for sale and now the England international has joined in to re-assured the fans.

Following a report at the weekend, Villa Star Linked With Shock Exit Barry told the official site: ‘I’d like to reassure fans that I am not looking to leave.’ after being linked to Chelsea in the press over the weekend.

On the rumour he added, ‘I saw the story but it was the first I’d heard of it. Of course I am happy at Villa. I guess it is just a reflection of how I am doing at club and international level. How true it is I don’t know. I certainly won’t be worrying about it or thinking about it. I’d like to reassure fans that I am not looking to leave. The manager, Chairman- we are all going in the right direction. These things come up suddenly from time to time, and I don’t know how true they are. ‘

Our latest poll, suggested by Villan444 asks, How much would you want to accept for Gareth Barry if Chelsea did come in for him?
