Gary Gardner has returned to training after a long seven months out with the second cruciate ligament injury of his career.
It was originally expected that he would be out for 9 months, so to return this early is a huge boost for the youngster as he again looks to make up for lost time.
‘After seven months of hard work, first day back training today! What a feeling! Hard work pays off! Time to kick on thanks for all your support!’
Ok, maybe overkill on the exclamation marks but who can blame him when he’s effectively two months ahead of schedule here.
It would be a surprise to see him back in the first team really as you’d expect it to take him longer than that to build up proper match fitness but who knows, even better if he can maybe get some pitch time before the season closes.
Hopefully the training will be steady and he’ll suffer no complications though, as many hoped he would kick on this season, so it’s vital he’s fit and raring to go for our next campaign.
