General Krulak has given HIS PERSONAL opinion on the current saga, this time to Meakers from our message board on facebook… ah, the modern world…!

“Richard, you know I am not going to tell you anything. I will say that the uproar over McLeish is absolutely uncalled for….he certainly has proved he can manage in the big leagues…just imagine what he could do if he was with an owner who supported him.”
“First off, NO ONE is confirming a rumour…I am just stating a belief. You all cling to the fact that he has seen his lads relegated twice…well, the first time he was not with the Club long enough to make much of a difference. Secondly, …look at the owners he has worked for and their support of him monetarily. Then look at Randy and what he provides to his Managers. Third, look at his record with other Clubs…as a Manager and player. Check with Sir Alex and ask him about the man…you will get an entirely different sense.

All I am saying is that the fact that he managed BCFC should not be the driving factor. Those fans who X the man out because he managed our biggest rival just seem to miss the point. YES, Randy and the Board understand the feelings of the Fans…we are neither deaf nor blind. At the same time, whether it would be this man or any other, we need to do what we think is right for the Club.

NO action is taken without HUGE input from many knowledgeable people. Honest to goodness, if a single man can cause all the fans to abandon ship, that is a sad state of affairs. What you are basically saying is, “Randy, let us pick the Manager…we know more than you, those who are advising you, those who are in the game and know the individuals, those who make a living recommending managers and players, etc. etc” Sorry, that just doesn`t seem right to me.

Again, I am not confirming the rumour…just simply stating my feelings…as a FAN!!!!!!!!”

Previous message from General Krulak in our feedback thread…:

As everyone can see, I have kept a low profile because there are times when its best to let things play out. A week or so ago, some Fans and the media were going crazy over the GH saga. At that time I tried to make it clear that the Club was not going to conduct business in the media….that it wasn’t fair to GH and it wasn’t fair to the Club.

We all acted in a professional manner and business was taken care of…just as I said it would be.

Now we have the old complaint of ‘dithering’ or not making a decision quickly enough or blowing through multiple names in the papers….as if choosing and obtaining a Manager was as simple as going to M&S and purchasing a Balti Pie.

I am not sure where these ‘expert fans’ get their information on how to go about picking a manager in a week but I would sure like to know. As most of you know, a great many things go into the equation…advice from people ‘in the business’, discussions with agents and people with access, research on everything from records of success (history) to connectivity with the players in the dressing room, to effective use of personnel provided, to compatiblility with owner and people at the Club, to many, many other things.

To some fans it seems like just a simple act…it isn’t. Likewise, some fans seem to think that the Manager is a ‘signal’ of ‘ambition’…as if one manager sends a bigger ‘signal’ than another…FORGET about whether that Manager ‘fits’ with the Club. I have said it more than once and I will say it again, we will NOT conduct business in the media. We will NOT react to nonsense printed in the media. We must NOT pick a Manager based upon who gets the most votes from the Fans…that is not the way to run a Club or a business. We will get the very best man for the job in our opinion and in the opinion of those who assist in the decision process. Once we get our man, he will get our total support.

Randy has NEVER failed to support his Manager. Picking a Manager is not a popularity contest…it is very complicated and very deliberative. It encompasses many things…that must be weighed and evaluated. Trying to suss it out thru the media is just a waste of your time…because the media is simply trying to sell papers.
