Gerard Houllier Post Blackburn Match Reaction

Gerard Houllier has spoken to the Official Site that silly mistakes and missed chances cost us the game.

He said things – obviously – might have been different if we had taken the early chances explaining “Had we scored maybe it would have changed the morale of the team – maybe confidence on their side would have been affected. But unfortunately we didn’t.’

He also points to the silly free kicks we are giving away, not just in this game (I`m sure we all remember Fulham also!) and says the team need to learn not to give them away when not in danger. One today from Stephen Warnock – something he is doing way too much of at the moment – was totally not necessary but cost us a goal.

Houllier added, “But we can’t complain about anybody except ourselves and we turn to the next game – that is my philosophy.’

And in what might well become a warning to some of the players he finishes, ‘We need to learn the lesson from this game.’ Because if they don`t, they`ll be out I`m sure.
