There’s no denying that £22million summer capture, Wesley, is taking his time to settle in properly and impress at Aston Villa.
The 22-year-old Brazilian has scored twice in seven matches for us so far during the 2019/20 Premier League campaign, but whilst there have been small flashes, and subtle improvements in his overall play as the games tick by, there continue to be massive areas he needs to improve on.
What are your thoughts on Wesley’s performance against Burnley? 🇧🇷 #avfc pic.twitter.com/7TU9RTHrIb

Not least, how easily he goes to ground – but it’s also fair to say he’s often isolated and we tend to hit him long, where that doesn’t appear to have been his game during his time with Club Brugge.
Options up top has long been a debate after our summer dealings in the transfer window and whilst plenty of fans are looking forward to seeing us strengthen further during the January window, Wesley still has plenty in the fanbase backing him to improve further and really show his worth, despite his slow start so far – but it’s no secret most players from abroad do need time to adjust.
My thoughts are stop slating our players and get behind the boys regardless. Negativity helps no one

7 games in and he already been slated by a lot of fans if it was 30 games then slate the kid…

He can do better but the jury is still out on him

Poor, worse so far. Doesn’t jump for the balls in the air, not great with ball at his feet, weak when challenged, does a lot of work outside the box but when ball is wide never seems to be in the box. Hopefully still in touch jan and we buy a goalscorer

He needs to stop falling over..he needs some time to adapt whether he is good enough only time will tell at the moment he looks a distance away from what we need up front..

Benteke was terrible for a few months average some more . Then one of best strikers weve ever had .This side are too good to be relegated we had 15 draws last season.but once its clicked we will tear it up UTV keep the faith

He had a very poor game, not involved enough but he needs time and confidence and no idiots getting on his back.

No service, we've done this with striker after striker. Not keen on the play acting though. He's a big unit, I'm sure he could put himself about a bit more, but didn't know him before he came here, so don't know what his natural game is. Fingers crossed things click quickly
