|Aston Villa||Sheffield Wednesday|
|McGinn (53)||Matias (49), Fletcher (67)|
Having finally got back to winning ways in the midweek clash with Rotherham United after our string of draws, Aston Villa welcomed Sheffield Wednesday to Villa Park this afternoon for the latest Championship clash.
Whilst we continue our search for a centre-half and I guess some intelligence, Wednesday certainly rocked the boat ahead of kick-off as they didn’t include suspended attacker Fernando Forestieri.
Hopefully, we had accounted for that!
Whether or not manager Steve Bruce regrets his words earlier this week is open for debate but given he listens to the crowd and not the ‘mad few’ who have pointed out the obvious, I dare to say the crowd at halftime and fulltime sent their own message.
This was a must not lose game after his petulance, and we lost 2-1.
John McGinn’s wonder strike was little consolation but we could’ve nicked a point, despite being devoid of any style or plan and whilst I say we could’ve snuck a point, equally we should be lucky the margin of defeat wasn’t bigger.
This unintelligent fan is going back to his crayons as it’s getting more and more difficult with every passing game to try and defend Bruce, as to paraphrase his own words ‘people can see what we’re trying to do’ – that number keeps shrinking and I still can’t – I just wanted to and tried.
