It seems head coach Dean Smith, or Sporting Director Jesus Garcia Pitarch, are quickly making plans for the future at Aston Villa as on Tuesday, a third young Lion signed their first professional terms.
Following quickly on the heels of Michael Tait and Jacob Ramsey, 18-year-old midfielder Jack Birch becomes the latest off the production line to pen a professional contract, keeping him with us for the foreseeable future.
The young lad has had an injury hit campaign so far in the season of 2018/19, making only four appearances for our Under 18s but the new contract despite that shows our faith in him as one potentially for the future.

Academy manager Sean Kimberley told the Official Site of the deal.
“Jack has progressed through the academy schoolboy ranks since joining the club at our entry level as an U9 player. He’s a central midfield player who demonstrates excellent vision and technical ability to pass the ball accurately both over short and long distances. Although frustrated through injury this season, I’m looking forward to seeing how he progresses at the next level.”
I’ve not heard of the lad, but I only pay some attention at Under 23 level, however, plenty of fans seemed pretty content with the news as they reacted on social media.
Good luck young man. Always give 100%. UTV!!
