Aston Villa have been hoping for big things from Academy product Andre Green for a couple of years now given his performances for the Under 23s.

Having gained his chance to impress and made his debut against Tottenham Hotspur back in March 2016, he quickly made that two showings with Swansea City later that month. With 17 appearances in his breakthrough season in 2016/17 it was hoped 2017/18 would be his year and he racked up five appearances in August, scoring his maiden EFL goal in the game against Norwich City.
September saw only one showing though as he went down with an injury that basically ended his campaign. He made one more showing in January and that was his lot for the year.

He’s back with a bang this pre-season though with his troubles behind him and the 20-year-old is looking fit, sharp and he undoubtedly wants to make up for lost time.
A starting XI place for Hull City is his aim and his goal against West Ham United in our most recent friendly has done him no harm at all. With the departure of Robert Snodgrass, a place in the team is his for the taking.
