Jack Grealish has said he has now achieved his lifelong dream to reach a European final with his boyhood club.
After more than playing his part in Villa’s progress to the NextGen final and bagging himself a goal in the process, the youngster told the Official Site:
‘It’s a great feeling to get through to the final of what you could say is the Champions League of your own age group. It’s a lifelong dream to even play for Villa but to get to a European final tops it all off. It’s unbelievable, all the lads were buzzing. It was the best feeling I’ve ever had, not just in a Villa shirt but in a football shirt.’
Grealish goes on to talk about the determined work ethic the club insists on for players and the fitness work. We all know it wasn’t a great performance from the boys based on their own standards, but they stuck at it, and ultimately from being the better side Lisbon lost their bottle, became frustrated and self destructed and because our lads kept going at it, we were in the perfect position to make them pay when they did.
Well done again lads, you should be proud of yourselves.
