Martin O’Neill has said that Brad Guzan is still up for the challenge of proving himself in the Premiership.

The manager admits it will take Guzan a while to adapt to the ‘English style’ of play if he has a work permit accepted, but he’s convinced Guzan has what it takes to attempt it.

“He is dead keen to come. Only time will tell if he is good enough now, but he is up for the challenge just as he was a few months ago. And he is every bit as keen this time around.

“We thought in January we were in a position to do something. It was narrowly defeated at the hearing and we are hoping his position has improved since then because of his ability to fulfil the criteria – because he has definitely played the games.”
