Had To Be Him, But Villa Need To Look At Themselves (Again) – Match Stats

With a fantastic fightback against Sheffield United last Friday evening, everyone was hoping that Aston Villa would go into tonight’s battle with Brentford with a little bit of attacking momentum and some renewed confidence given how we ended the game.

Heading to Griffin Park to face head coach Dean Smith’s former side, we were certainly looking to improve our more recent record against the side and whilst only the selection of Kortney Hause can be considered a surprise, fresh from his recent first professional contract, we did see youngster Jacob Ramsey make an appearance on the bench.

It was probably best Ramsey didn’t get on the pitch given that performance as Smith cannot be pleased with how he seems to be ignored by our first team squad when it comes to style of play and dare I say, even effort.

Another utterly **** poor performance gave us what we deserved which was nothing, and although the hosts dominated I don’t think they were much better. The same old names again failed to earned their wages.

Big summer ahead – but we already knew that, didn’t we.
