Brian ‘he who walks on water’ Little has spoken with Setanta Sports in an exclusive interview saying that 4th is not the be all and end all for Villa this season because Villa are improving.

The former Villa legend and manager told Sultana that there are a number of reasons for Villa being leapfrogged (hey, honestly, no pun was intended there!) by Arsenal.

He points to the great form of Arsenal and the fact they’ve had key players returning whilst we’ve had a big loss in Martin Laursen.

‘The loss of key players at a crucial stage of the season has really hurt them and the absence of Laursen in particular has been noticeable as he is a giant at the back for them. I don’t think Villa really expected to be in the top four this season, but Martin would have thought that they would go close.’

He also says that despite the fact we might not now finish fourth (the race is still on, Arsenal have some very tough games yet to face!) there is clear improvement at Villa and all we need to do now is to increase numbers… how often have we heard that one!?

Not the most interesting snippet I grant you but then again, news is slow on the ground at the moment and it is always nice to mention Sir Brian, a true Villa gent.
