With Wimbledon and England in the European Championships, I almost missed this one this week – highly rated young goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo is another youngster who has committed his future to Aston Villa as he signed a new contract earlier this week.
I can’t see any confirmation of the deal on the Official Site, but that’s not really needed when the player makes the announcement themselves.
Delighted to have signed a new contract with the club!🦁⚽️ #avfc pic.twitter.com/NFRHrmmGqG

For those who more follow our youngsters, the 19-year-old Finland youth international spent last season out on loan with Scottish side Ayr United and he was getting great game time and experience until injury curtailed his season back in early April.
In his 29 matches for them across all competitions, he clearly impressed the fans as well given their well wishes when the injury was confirmed and they knew he was on his way back to Bodymoor for treatment.
It’s believed his new contract runs until 2023 and I can only imagine we’ll be looking to get him back out on loan this season, but at a higher level so he can continue his progression and development.
Deserved 🙌

Why are we signing all these players when we have so many promising youngsters coming along and signing more.
