Having fallen to defeat to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday afternoon, it didn’t take much intelligence to know how that would go across with the Aston Villa fan base.
Manager Steve Bruce’s words following the Rotherham United victory was the only motivation some needed as they felt targeted by his comments and whilst it’s always fair to say the internet can contain the seemingly loudest and most vociferous fans, and it is a microcosm of a section of fans, when that section aligns with the Villa Park faithful in their concern and dissatisfaction – the gig is up and usually only a matter of time.
The whistle goes. It's our first home league defeat of the campaign. Da Silva and Fletcher goals cancel out McGinn's stunning volley.#PartOfThePride pic.twitter.com/XkPwDalMc7

With every passing game that is now becoming true as more and more turn as the crowd Bruce listens to, by his own admission, send a louder message of their own.
Bruce out. He’s being an absolute idiot. Playing Jedinak at CB every week when Tuanzebe is on the bench? Persisting with 4-4-2 which doesn’t suit the team at all. We’ve dropped 4 points against Reading and Ipswich and then we lose at home to Sheff Wed for the second year in a row

quite simply for the good of the club #BruceOut

Any credible COACH would walk this league with that side & not be completely reliant on individual brilliance to win matches. Wouldn't insult the fans….Wouldn't play poor old Jedi at centre half. Club have to act.

For some reason I backed him until the Burton and Sheffield United defeats but there’s no progress and even with the new exciting players, we still lose to average teams. Got to pull the plug now.

I can’t carry on like this … it’s costing a fortune drowning my sorrows …get him and his cronies out !

Bruce maintains you can’t please everyone, the apparent majority would be a start and he expects Villa Park to erupt pre-game if fans want him out – let’s not let it get to that stage please, for everyone’s sanity.
Oh, and credit to the social media team, we’re making them work incredibly hard and the above message almost makes the game sound better than it actually was.
