Heskey Rumours Not Going Away

The persistent rumours linking Emile Heskey with a cut price move to Blackburn just don’t seem to be going away in the press.

Another day of column inches have discussed Big Sam’s desire to sign Emile in a £2 million move to bolster Blackburn’s attacking intent.

The bulk of the rumour seems to be based around Blackburn’s options upfront, and the fact that Heskey struggled last season to be anything other than Carew’s replacement between 73-82 minutes.

Some press say he has fallen out of favour with O’Neill, and we all remember the quotes about not playing affecting his England chances, which obviously following his retirement would not be an issue anymore but whether O’Neill would really let the striker go is open for debate.

The sticking point in any move would obviously be his wages but a move like this only seems to make sense if rumours surrounding Robbie Keane are true, and more advanced than most think.

Very few fans would be sad to see him go, but if it’s goals Big Sam is after it sounds even more unlikely to come off.
