According to HITC, Jake Doyle-Hayes has a number of League One clubs keen to sign him on loan in January. Aston Villa are considering sanctioning a move for the midfielder as he’s struggled for playing time in the senior side. Doyle-Hayes has made three senior appearances, having made his debut on August 22, 2017, and may benefit from first-team football elsewhere.

The Ireland u21 international has racked up around 20 games at u18 level and 48 for the reserves. With the likes of John McGinn, Henri Lansbury, Conor Hourihane, Glenn Whelan, Mile Jedinak and Birkir Bjarnason all competing for a place in the Villa midfield, Doyle-Hayes stands little chance of playing under Dean Smith.

If clubs from League One are paying an interest in the 19-year-old, he’s probably not at the level of a Championship side. His lack of Villa appearances suggest his development has been slow too, so a temporary move away from the Midlands club could be key to Doyle-Hayes improving.

Offers could come thick and fast in the coming weeks ahead of the January transfer window and Villa should be open to letting the highly-rated player leave.
