It’s turning into a good week for Aston Villa Academy graduate Callum O’Hare as he’s seen himself nominated for the Professional Footballers’ Association Player of the Month Award for April.

The 21-year-old talent made the switch out to Brunton Park and Carlisle United at the tail end of the January transfer window to take his development to the next stage with a proper run of senior football – the experience of being away from Bodymoor Heath for his first loan spell would’ve been a benefit as well.

By all accounts it was a successful time in League Two as the midfielder made 16 starting appearances for them, chipping in with three goals as well as playing his part in other goals.

Across April, they won three games on the spin on home soil with O’Hare finding the net twice, with an additional assist in five showings.

The League Two shortlist was released yesterday and voting closes at 8am this morning, so fingers crossed he takes the gong.

Callum O’Hare – Carlisle
Ilias Chair – Stevenage
Christian Doidge – Forest Green
Kurtis Guthrie – Stevenage
