Aston Villa have worked hard at getting the limit increased for match day drinks at the newly refurbished Holte pub.

The capacity has now risen from 130 to 240.

Alison Plant, manager of Business Villa, said:

‘We are delighted that following us pressing for and subsequently a visit we have managed to increase the capacity on the ground floor to 240!’

The timing of the permission left them with very little time before today’s kick off but they still sent off more emails to season ticket holders who were drawn at random to be able to gain entry.

The Holte is also open on week days, they are looking at ways to further utilise the building and to encourage visitors. Feedback and suggestions I’m sure would be appreciated. theholte@avfc.co.uk They are looking at using the first floor meeting rooms for supporter groups on match days (and other days) and I’ve also suggested that maybe rooms could be offered to our various websites and forums in rotation depending on access for beer obviously! Would be good to get a Vital Villa meet up there one of the days.

Thursday nights there is a curry and pint night, all in for £6.50 which is a bargain! There is safe parking in the Holte car park.

They are also open for Sunday lunch.

Opening hours:

Sunday 12 -6, Mon, Tues and Wed 11.00am – 8.30pm and Thursday /Friday/Saturdays 11.00am – 11.00pm. Match days are governed differently.

Personally I think it would also be the perfect place for a museum or at least somewhere to display some Villa memorabilia to entice yet more fans.
