How dare we lose? I mean, how very dare we?!

Three things we learned yesterday during the Fulham 2-0 Villa

1) The only luck Villa are having injury wise is bad luck.

Some fans were saying Bruce set us up negatively from the start. I don`t think they stopped to think that we had key players out. There was no Uncle Albert, the now very influential Jack Grealish and he couldn`t turn to the exciting talent of Andre Green because he`s got another hamstring injury. Add to that no Kodjia and we really can say our most skilful players were missing yesterday. Oh No. Green Blow. Adomah Out A While. Grealish?

2) We weren`t that bad.

First half, I thought we matched Fulham. They had a few chances, we did as well, Thor should have buried his chance. Their first goal was just a good goal, the second a silly mistake from the usually excellent Sam Johnstone. Hogan had a half decent chance to take it back to 2-1, it just wasn`t to be. The negativity around social media yesterday came very quickly which after a seven game winning streak, I found baffling. Fulham did take control more during the second half, they were two up, that was no shock and with the stats between the two clubs and recent form, it was always going to be a toss of a coin. Who knows, if we`d take our early chance, things could have been different, they weren`t but I didn`t feel that was a bad day at the office, it was just a loss v a good team.

We have to press more.

The one criticism, and one of the things we highlighted in 3 Things Aston Villa Need To Do To Beat Fulham Away, we didn`t press enough. No matter who we play, we should play with the tempo and determination we did v Birmingham City. Give these passing teams time on the ball and eventually they will make us pay.

This is not a disaster, it was going to come eventually, it`s disappointing not to get eight on the trot, but we just need to build again now, use some momentum and pressing on Tuesday night and get back to winning ways. Still plenty of games to go, all to play for and we are well and truly in the mix.
