It was certainly a mixed bag of reactions from Aston Villa fans when it came to social media following last night’s EFL Cup victory over Yeovil Town.
That's the whistle. We're through to Round Two of the Carabao Cup after @ConorHourihane sealed victory 13 minutes from time with his first goal of the campaign. Fair play to our hosts, who gave it a real go tonight. ????#PartOfThePride pic.twitter.com/linKojAeEs

Travelling to Huish Park for the First Round tie of the competition this year, Villa took a narrow 1-0 victory on the evening to book our place in Round Two of the domestic Cup courtesy of a second-half Conor Hourihane effort as he connected with a ball across from Jonathan Kodjia.
With a disallowed goal for the hosts and a penalty save for summer signing Andre Moreira, it definitely wasn’t an easy game or a great performance and whilst some fans couldn’t help but remark about the performance in general, others were happy to have taken the victory given how often higher level clubs can come a cropper to lower level opposition at this round.
So true needs to actually win games properly…not just luckily scrape through.

Not the greatest of games. A win is a win however. Into the next round, valuable run out for some of the youngsters and best start to a season in over 40years.

Best start to a season in 60 years and fans here still moan n moan n moan. You couldn't make it up.
Some here are almost annoyed we have started a season so well. "Our luck will run out" says one here. Awful mindset. Anyway. #UTV ????Steve Bruces Claret and Blue Army???? #AVFC

The only plus from tonight is that there was a glimmer of the past from Kodja for the goal. Superb ball from @JackGrealish1 to release Kodja. Yet again, another quality run into the box from @ConorHourihane …..Poor performance, but through to the next round. #UTV

It does mean our best start to a season since 1962 and you can only beat what’s in front of you, but there’s no hiding it was a poor showing but we’re far from alone in that when you look at other results from last night.
Acknowledge it, improve on it, take the positives and move on to the next one.
