John Carew has vowed to maintain his current goalscoring run and in an effort to fire us to European qualification.

Speaking on the official site Carew is obviously pleased to have taken his tally for the season to 13 against Everton, including a nice little record of 5 games in the last 9 games, but like in all interviews with the Big Man, he states that Villa’s form is far more important than his own personal goal tally.

‘It’s a great feeling and you always try to create chances and hopefully the ball goes in the net.

‘Sometimes it goes in the net every time or you can have a period where it hits the goalpost and goes out but that’s life.

‘I’m really happy with the way things are going at the moment, but of course it doesn’t help much if you are not winning.

‘I still have a big job to do. There are very important games coming up and I have to try and perform in the final games so we can make a difference and do something important.

‘The most important thing for me is that we start winning games.’

If we can continue the form we showed against Man U and Everton then the wins will return. And if Carew keeps showing for the ball and putting the effort in he has done lately, there’s no reason on Earth why he can’t hit the big 20 with the remaining 6 games.
