Alan Hutton has said he gets on fine with Paul Lambert and reckons his demotion from the first team is to do with finances.
Speaking to the Birmingham Mail Hutton explained that his omission was nothing to do with his ability, it was to do with the other side of it.
‘At the time I was told it was nothing to do with my ability, it was all about the other aspect of it. If that’s the case then I don’t see why I won’t be considered for the team. I’m still on the book, so there’s no reason to leave me out altogether.’
No doubt Lambert has taken the decision to hopefully get Hutton and Warnock off the wage bill, but given that not playing them only affects match day bonuses that it inself isn’t a reason to have excluded them the way they have been.
If he’s looking for a response, Hutton certainly seems to be demonstrating it in this interview.
‘Myself and the new manager get on fine, there’s no problem between us whatsoever. I’ve actually had really good conversations with him since he’s taken over. Hopefully, now the window is closed, I’ll push my way back in. It’s frustrating, of course it is. It’s hard to take, but the only thing I can do is keep working hard and show him if needed I’m ready.’
Well attitude seems spot on, and his performance against Burton was probably his best in our shirt, so who knows what the future might bring?
