Alan Hutton has talked about his future, and his hopes that something can be agreed quickly so both he and the club can move on.

Hutton has obviously returned to Villa now following his loan spell at Real Mallorca, and the 28 year old right back does have two years remaining on his contract, but he, as well as everyone else knows, he does not figure in Paul Lambert’s plan.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail when asked the question if his chances of playing for Villa were over, he answered.

‘Oh definitely, a million per cent. That’s done. Obviously I want to move on, another loan deal would not be ideal for the family, I’d like a permanent deal.’

As has remained the case since he departed Lambert’s plans he again commented that there isn’t a single problem between them, that they’ve had plenty of meetings, honest and polite, and just like the reported eight players who have been told they can find another club, it’s just football and the direction Lambert wants to go in.

No recriminations, just a desire for a move to be as simple and speedy as possible.

Adding that he was that desperate to get away from Spurs when he joined us that maybe he should’ve thought a bit longer about the deal, but that’s something he’ll factor in this time round so he can just crack on with playing.

‘I’ll make sure it’s right for me first. Hopefully they’re not looking for a fee for me – they can’t really, if they’re telling all these boys to leave they can’t be asking for a figure that’s going to stop you going somewhere.’

For himself he also comments that he has no rush, players don’t normally move clubs for another few weeks at least, so he has plenty of time to weigh up his options.

The Mail also say that had Mallorca not been relegated they did have an option to sign Hutton permanently, but he doesn’t believe he’ll be going back to the club ‘unfortunately’. He hopes however it will be another Spanish team because as he’s said before, he enjoyed his time over there.
