Alan Hutton has said he is resigned to the fact that his Villa career is over, but he remains professional in his comments.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail Hutton conceded, he didn’t see ‘any way back for me at Villa’ after being honestly told at the start of the season that he didn’t figure in Paul Lambert’s plans:

‘I don’t see any way back for me at Villa. I was told at the beginning of the season I wouldn’t be playing. It’s one of those things when new managers come in. You have to pick yourself up and move on. You’ll have to ask Paul Lambert, I don’t really want to go into the reason. What’s been said has done for me there, I want the boys to do well and then January comes and we’ll see what happens.’

Currently on loan at Nottingham Forest, Hutton must be enjoying himself so far as he adds:

‘Forest is a big club and I want to be part of it.’

No doubt the story will come out eventually, but he didn’t really endear himself to fans with his performances and many wanted rid of him, and it appears Lambert brought into that early on, but again, he hasn’t kicked up a fuss and I credit that.

Not a nice situation for anybody I imagine, but at least the honest conversation was had early doors and all involved have known the eventual outcome which is something.
