Aston Villa midfielder Henri Lansbury hasn’t had the best of times since arriving at the club back in the January 2017 transfer window for a reported £2.75million fee from Nottingham Forest.
The 28-year-old has had form issues and lengthy problems with a number of injuries and we are undoubtedly yet to see the best of him given he only has 25 starting appearances to his name, with nine showings from the substitutes bench – with the goalscoring midfielder only finding the back of the net twice.
In last weekend’s clash with Bristol City, his late substitute appearance was only his fourth of the entire 2018/19 campaign so far, and fans are now hopeful that we can see the best of him if he can remain fit.
With some concerns about John McGinn’s yellow card tally and his potential to miss the Play-Offs if he picks up another two bookings, Lansbury’s importance to head coach Dean Smith could become even more prevalent as plenty of fans want McGinn ‘rested’ when he picks up booking 14 and for Lansbury to come in as his replacement for our remaining fixtures.
We need to see him fit, I don’t believe we have seen even close to what he can be. Really hope he stays injury free and gives Smith something to think about. ????????

Give Super John McGinn a rest now so he doesn’t get suspended and see what a fit Lansbury can do. Be good to see him finally get a run if he’s fully fit.

Play the norwich and Leeds games so McGinn gets a rest and avoids a three match ban. Sorted.
