The club announced 32Red as a new “principal partner” this morning. The gambling website were the club’s kit sponsor between 2006 and 2008, and will now return to the front of the claret and blue shirt.
In those two years, we finished 11th and 6th in the Premier League; a far cry from the situation we are in now.
Supporters on Twitter were not hopeful that the club’s new sponsor will bring us any good luck:
Is it worth about 40 million

Quite apt that we’ve gone back to another gambling company seeing as as our owner nearly gambled away the club.

Verdict:
It is a very small bit of good news that means we at least have some additional money coming in through the deal. Whether it will put a dent in what need to balance the books, it’s doubtful.
Currently, we need £11m by the end of the month to cover the club’s running costs. Tony Xia is said to be seeking £30m from minor investors in order to ensure we get out of this current precarious financial situation.
