I love the local derby v Blues.

I hate the local derby v Blues.

I especially love it when I’m back home, in the knowledge my car hasn’t been kicked in, no major incidents have happened, all have got home safely and… well, the last bit is obvious, we’ve won.

I will never understand the small knuckle dragging element bringing down what should be a decent sporting event but that’s just me, all about the love and peace – unless a referee makes a bad decision obviously!

This film has done the rounds before but I thought it was well worth showing again. As the youtube introduction says:

The Second City derby is one of the most intense in English football. We look at how Birmingham is divided between Villa and Blues fans and why the rivalry is so heated…

Some good points well made from both sides of the Villa / Blues divide.

There is an excellent Newcastle v Sunderland small film like this as well, fantastic filming, sadly I can’t find it at the moment but if any of you are good at searching, it is well worth looking up.

Here’s hoping all the talk on Sunday is about the football… and another great win for Villa!
