A short time ago Aston Villa confirmed that young centre-half Jacob Bedeau had now departed the club on a permanent basis and headed to League One side Scunthorpe United.

Having come in for a believed fee of around the £1million mark from Bury back in the January 2017 window, the now 19-year-old was very much considered to be one for the future, but sadly sometimes these things don’t work out and it appears that we have mutually terminated his contract this week to enable him to more swiftly get himself sorted with another employer.

Announcing his departure inside of the last hour, Villa confirmed that he has moved to Glanford Park on a free transfer.

He had 13 appearances to his name for our Under 23 set up in the campaign of 2018/19 but he failed to make a senior appearance to my memory in his couple of years with us.

At least it seems we are looking at the ‘now’ and the future as head coach Dean Smith gets the group set how he wants.
