Aston Villa’s trip to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal on Friday evening was largely forgettable for a whole variety of reasons as another woefully poor performance saw us register three defeats on the spin.

With fans angrily pouring over the performance still given it’s yet another weekend ruined, the plus points to come out of the game was the showing of Leon Bailey who continues to look good, some flashes from Emi Buendia proving we have a talent when we work out how to get him more involved, and Jacob Ramsey’s well placed thunderbolt as he opened his professional account for us.

The 20-year-old talent has had to wait 36 games to grab his first goal, although he had opened his career account previously, scoring three times during his loan spell out with Doncaster Rovers and speaking to the Official Site following the game, he was understandably pleased to get off the mark even with the disappointment of the result.

“It was a tough game to come onto, being 3-0 down. The gaffer puts you on to try and make an impact. On a personal level, I’m happy to get my first Premier League goal, first goal for the club. Overall, it was disappointing with the result and the performance.”

Adding.

“I did an interview a couple of weeks ago after the Manchester United game and I said that I wanted to get more goals and more assists. I think I was on 29 [Premier League] appearances, so it’s taken a while. I’m thankful that it’s come tonight, but we’re disappointed with the result.”

Although there wasn’t much for fans to shout about on Friday, that strike was one thing we could.
