James Milner Looking To Win U21 Final

The England U21 team take on the old enemy Germany tonight in the Euro 2009 final.

Monday 29 June
The Final
Germany v England
New Stadium Malmö, Malmo
7.45pm

The two teams met in the group stages with a 1-1 draw the result, hopefully England can go one better tonight. Gabby Agbonlahor will miss the clash due to picking up a second yellow card but Craig Gardner could feature and James Milner is a bang on certainty to feature.

The Villa midfielder is sure they can win and told the official site:

‘The beauty of this squad is that we have a lot of younger lads so it’s the first time for a few of them. But there’s also a lot of experience in the squad, players who got to the semi-final last time and who played in that shoot-out [against Holland]. All of that will stand us in good stead. Even the players who haven’t played in the under-21 finals before, I’m sure that they’ve played in the under-17 European Championships. That’s valuable experience as well.’

Adding that this is his third tournament – Milner holds the record for the number of caps at U21 level – and says having gone out twice in the semi’s ‘hopefully, we can go one better this time.’

Good luck lads, stick it to them!
