Australian midfielder Mile Jedinak has undergone surgery in an effort to resolve his long standing groin problem.
Having spent time out from us last season with the problem, he also sat out this summer’s Confederations Cup for Australia as Ange Postecoglu decided to give him longer to rest up in the hope that would sort the problem.
In an effort to ensure it doesn’t show its head again, he has now gone under the knife.
Manager Steve Bruce was quoted by the Birmingham Mail as confirming that was why he wasn’t with us out in Portugal.
‘Big Mile has had a groin operation so we’re waiting on him. He’s not here in Portugal.’
He hasn’t yet been given a return date, instead the focus in on rest and recovery but Bruce will hope he’s back with us and can start his pre season properly when we return to the UK.
