New signing Jermaine Jenas has expressed his delight at being part of the fabric at Aston Villa and hopes to make the most of it.

The 28-year-old has arrived on a season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur and could not wait to put pen to paper.

He is excited to link up with his new teammates and perform in front of the Villa faithful.

Speaking to the Official Site he said:

“It’s been frustrating for me being in and out, in and out and it’s almost impossible to generate any form. Obviously, I’ve still got to get into this team. It’s a very good side with some very good players. That’s one of the reasons why I was chomping at the bit to get up here. I looked at what they had within the squad, how I would fit into that and what we could achieve and it excited me, so I can’t wait.”

“I’ve got to work hard in training to try and get a starting place within this team and then I can build up my form and produce the kind of performances I know I can produce. I’m still a young 28, I’ve still got plenty of energy and plenty more to come.”

He is evidently delighted to be in the second city as he paid testament to the claret and blue support:

“I’m so delighted to be joining Villa. I’m thrilled to be here. It’s a fantastic stadium and a fantastic pitch. The fans, every time I’ve played here, the atmosphere they generate really does help the home team. They’ve always been brilliant. They’re loud and they get right in people’s faces. They’ve been in my face a few times, but hopefully they’ll be on my side now.”

“I’m really looking forward to getting out there and playing for them.I was hoping the goal I scored for Tottenham at Villa wouldn’t be brought up! I hope I can score lots of goals for Villa while I’m here.”

JJ will link up with former Spurs teammate and our club record signing Darren Bent. This will be a massive help to him in settling in:

“I know Benty really well and I’ve been watching progress since he’s been here. He’s done really well. It’s going to be nice to have him back on my team and be back playing with him. Having people you know at a club is nice, it helps you settle in a lot more easily.”

“Hutts (Alan Hutton) has signed too, of course. I’ve been with him for the past three or four years. I’m delighted for him as well that’s he’s signed a permanent deal. I know he’s raring to go as well.”
