Jlloyd Samuel says he doesn’t know of any interest following reports linking him to a Bolton Wanderers move but says the reports are ‘flattering.’

The left-back, who is out of contract in the summer, was thought to be a target for Sam Allardyce and his dirty dirty Bolton team (yeah, I’ve still not forgiven them for kicking lumps out of the Villa players instead of the ball!)

‘I don’t know of any interest in me personally, but to see my name linked with such clubs is flattering.’ Adding, in the Birmingham Mail: ‘It’s always nice to be well thought of, but I am still an Aston Villa player. We will just wait and see what the future brings. Will I be at Villa beyond January? I think I will be, but you never know in football.’

‘We will see what happens. Then it is up to me to decide what is best for me. It is a situation that I will have to look at, if things are not going right.’

Any thoughts of a move will be off now though as Jlloyd Samuel limped off after 24 minutes in the reserves game against Chelsea last night and is undergoing a scan today.

Martin O’Neill said: “He’s gone for a scan. He hurt his knee and we don’t know yet what he’s done. We’ll wait and see what the scan says.”
