John Carew To Miss Out On Arsenal Trip?

Looks like Big John Carew is in danger of missing a second game in a row as he is struggling for fitness ahead of our weekend trip to the Emirates.

On the plus side Martin O’Neill has hinted that both Stiliyan Petrov and Luke Young could be back for the game v Arsenal.

MON explained on the official site that both Petrov and Luke are making ‘decent progress’ and are back in training so he’ll be able to asses if they are able to return for Saturday’s game.

However on Carew he said ‘John is really struggling at the moment. The discomfort seems to have moved from his back to the front thigh area. He is in discomfort. We will see. He had scans yesterday that have come up pretty decently. He is going for tests now with the specialist. We will see accordingly.’
