With the summer transfer rumour mill already linking us with a possible move for Bristol City centre-half Adam Webster, on Wednesday it was claimed that the Ashton Gate outfit had formally rejected a £12million offer for the 24-year-old.
“No Need To Plot” “Swap + Cash” – These Villa Fans Have A Solution To Recent Transfer Speculation
With us having a reported interest in their Player of the Year, plenty of fans were quick to latch to their apparent interest in striker Scott Hogan when it came to a cash + swap deal that was more favourable to us, but the report from Sky Sports yesterday led with it being a straight £12million offer without Hogan being included.
It was a typical ‘understands’ piece that carried few actual details, but they did angle it towards being an ‘initial’ £12million upfront, presumably with additional clauses that would take the fee higher.
The Sun stated that City had paid Ipswich Town £3.5million rising to £8million for his services this time last summer, so if the bid is correct that gives them more than suitable quick profit in my mind, irrespective of the claim that they are holding out for a whopping £30million.
It’s fair to say that some Villa fans were less than impressed with their reported valuation.
Lee Johnson has no class, plain and simple, always has a bed in his bonnet about Villa if this story is true????????

They’re a bit salty at that club, aren’t they?! ????????

Can't be true, the valuation is ridiculous

The market is mental at the moment and needs some realism. It’s not just #avfc, even clubs like Man Utd aren’t throwing money around when quoted £75-80m on Diop/Maguire, which is nearly as ridiculous as £30m for Webster. Absolutely insane

IF this true then it sums up what is wrong with football at the moment #madness
