Colin Calderwood on the 3-2 win over Burton Albion. See the stats: He talks about the good run and states that it was very needed. “There is no reason to think we can`t win the next game.” v Blues? Too right Colin!

Happy with the win. With other results today we needed that. Not the most convincing victory but that’s 6 on the trot now so everyone must be happy. We made today a little bit harder than it needed to be. I thought we were sloppy at times, im just splitting hairs I suppose. All enjoy! First time since 1990 we’ve won so many games back to back ( I remember that season fondly, if we hadn’t signed Cascarino and changed how we played I still think we would have won the league that season, I digress) let’s make it 7 next Sunday against the noses. We seem to of made hard work of this one due to uncharacteristic mistakes at the back. And I must say, I’m not happy with a club that is bottom of the table coming to Villa Park and having 53% possession! I maybe nit picking, yeah, ok, we won. So that’s the 6 wins on the trot. It would be just typical Villa to slip up on the banana skin looming next weekend……. I bloody well hope not!

I didn`t get to see the game so how did Tuanzebe play and how did him coming on affect the role of Barney? I couldn`t imagine them both being on too often.

The most bizarre own goal from Elmohamady I’ve ever seen. In what looked like a moment of panic he absolutely lathered it into the top corner from about 5 yards. Didn’t look like he shanked it (from upper Holte), but completely blasted it. Villa got anxious and fell apart after that. Subs didn’t help. Tuanzebe looked confident and solid. He will be a very good player, too good for Villa. Grealish a class above everyone else on the pitch and the goal he scored was a worldy.

Tuanzebe went to right back, marlin, and Elmo pushed further forward. He did ok for the 20 or so minutes he was on, looks strong, has a bit of pace about him.

Another good three points, serious concerns about some of the bench selections, do wonder why Green wasn’t on the bench today especially at home ??? did we really need Alex T , Jedi and Whelan all on the bench ??? Need to ensure as well as beating the lower teams we remain unbeaten against the teams around us, can’t afford to let any of them come to Villa Park and go home with three points. And finally the bottom team coming to Villa Park and having greater possession …. isn’t that concerning ?

Great win, not pretty but another three points. Thought we relaxed a bit too much at times and the own goal was just bizarre. To be fair, so was their second goal, it seemed to be slow motion! Jack played well, the Viking did as well, but he did give the ball away a bit cheaply (actually, as did Johnstone) All in all, whoop. 6 on the trot, we march on.

AT looks athletic, could be a very useful player. Didn’t really see enough of him to really tell at the moment but I’m sure we will.
