Great post match reactions because it was a great match. Not rocket science this is it?!

Did I read the words ‘rampant Villa’ , great display and we now need a run of victories between now and the end of the season, just think where we would of been with a better December ??? Would like to see the ‘youthful’ look of the bench continued and not get replaced when Whelan and Gabby are fit again… we need to move forward ! Be very interesting how we do in the transfer market this January ?

Switch Elphick for JT (although credit to Tommy for the past couple of performances) and Bruce could well have stumbled across our best XI. Superb performance – please let’s kick on from this and not retreat back into the ‘safety first’ team selection and tactics that have hampered our season so far.

Surely Bruce can see that when Whelan’s out, how good the midfield plays. Well played lads & a very happy new year to you to.

Excellent display and result yesterday. Too many home draws so far this season, due to safety first tactics. Ok, Grealish was injured, but we can’t put it all down to Grealish for lifting us up out of our recent slump. Hopefully we have now stumbled upon our best line-up, bar JT. Hopefully that cracking goal of Hogans’ has give him the confidence to crack on. More of the same please….

I’d have more faith if team selection was planned not stumbled across ! But as others have said let’s hope he doesn’t revert back to failed squad players are fit again!

What a fantastic result and good to see it seems to have stopped some of the bickering. Has Agnew made a difference since coming in? Its very early days so I’m not getting carried away, but 2 good performances on the bounce against Boro and Bristol City – 2 teams I would expect to be in the top 6 by the end of the season. With the improvement in Elphicks performances I’m guessing a couple of clubs will be sniffing around him in the window now – maybe we should keep hold of him for cover.

Well done lads, crying out for a performance like that. What better way for Snoddy to answer Karren Brady’s recent comments, love it.

Amazingly good fun that was! And it perfectly illustrates my frustrations. We are THAT good, when they don’t play like that (I don’t mean 5-0 every time!) it is baffling. Everyone put in 100% yesterday.

Deanovilla: We scored the same amount of goals in 90 minutes last night that Blues have in their last 13 games!!!!!!

Aspinall: Amazing attendance as well I thought all things considered. And keep the fireworks every game! Warmed me up lovely.

Bodybutter: Everything is alright in the Villa world this morning. Fair play to Steve Bruce, he’s taken a lot of flack over the past month so he deserves a lot of credit for this win. We are 5 points off second now and on a roll. We have the best squad in the league and we’ve just hammered one of our promotion rivals 5-0. One of our most influential players is about to return from injury and we have a bench full of talented kids who are all knocking on the door. Oh, and I’m giving credit to Brucey for all of those little flicks and backheels today since he gets flack for the negative football we have produced this season.
