Nothing official as yet that I can see but Tom Ross has just posted the following on twitter and he rarely makes errors on this sort of thing.

Pierluigi Gollini was always a strange buy for a number one keeper. Young, plenty of potential, but you need experience between the nets don’t you?

Steve Bruce said at todays press conference, covered by The Birmingham Mail, what a lot of us said at the time of the signing, it was too much too soon for Gollini.
The Villa gaffer said with Sam Johnstone coming in they didn’t want Gollini left just “sitting around” adding, “In truth, he is a young lad and Aston Villa came too soon for him. We will keep a very close eye on how he develops during his time there.”
