Bit of a quiet news day today, not seen one made up press link or anything!

However we do have Ken McNaught talking about the new boss Paul Lambert.

Ken tells www.dailystar.co.uk that Paul Lambert has a big job on his hands but he can do it.

“It`s important he gets in that dressing room and separates the wheat from the chaff – and quickly – because the fans will demand instant success. I don`t think he`s the type who will look for a settling-in period – he will know it`s him or them. If there are players who don`t buy into his way immediately they need to go and I`m sure that is how he will see it.”

And this is just perfect from Ken:

“There are a few big egos in the team and I don`t understand why, because none of them has ever won anything.”

He adds that the egos might stem from the O`Neill days, bringing in players on massive contracts and telling them they are good! He mentions the time we got beaten by Man City and they then jetted off to Dubai.

“I asked Ron Saunders if he`d have taken us away after a bad result and he said, ‘You know the answer to that`.

He`s basically saying we went soft and I think a lot of us totally agree don`t we? Big ego`s, players who talk off the pitch and don`t perform on it and players who care not one bit about Villa, just their big wages and what other players are getting.

Times are changing though and not before time.
