Well, I’m all fired up for the new season!
I know I’m going soft in my old age but I was chuffed yesterday at the kit launch, thought Villa did a great job and represented us fantastically in the City centre. We are the second city, Brum has much to be proud of and WE are the founders of the league, we have even more to be proud of!
The article I did yesterday with the images from yesterday had a link (as most of the images I post up) to our Acorns 450 challenge (if you remember we started it last season with a £1000 over 2 year plan, we got that in 1 season so I have doubled the target… more to come on that as the season starts by the way) and someone donated £50 yesterday, so thanks SO much for that.
I’ll match that donation now to start the new season push. We at Vital Villa also donated £50 last month as James Milner was voted our Vital Villa player of the season. More reasons to stay at Villa James ;o))
FXPro made a large donation yesterday at the kit launch by the way, that is the start of their relationship through Villa with Acorns, the official charity of AVFC.
If you wish to make a donation… even ONE pound is very appreciated click this image or read the full details below:

Vital Villa have decided to focus it’s fund raising for the season (over £1000 raised last year) to all go to Acorns.
I’ve set up a page for my target of £1000. We are currently 87% on target (in one season, the target was over TWO seasons!) with nearly £900. This is all part of the Acorns 450 Challenge
The Vital Villa donations page is here, just the odd quid added would be more than appreciated: http://www.justgiving.com/vitalvilla
Don’t forget for each shirt purchased here: http://www.vfootystores.co.uk/villa/ we’ll donate a further 50p.
About Acorns www.acorns.org.uk :
Acorns Children`s Hospice offers nursing care and support for children who have life limiting or life threatening illnesses, and their families.
A network of care and support services is on offer at Acorns including: nursing care, end-of-life care and bereavement support; short breaks for the children; complementary therapies and support groups for the whole family.
Acorns has three children`s hospices: Acorns in Birmingham (located in Selly Oak), Acorns in the Black Country (located in Walsall) and Acorns for the Three Counties (located in Worcester). Each hospice is designed as a ‘home-from-home` offering a fun, relaxed and comfortable environment, complete with individual bedrooms for the children, communal dining areas, beautiful gardens, hydro-therapy pools and multi-sensory rooms.
Short breaks for children give them and their families a break from the daily routine, and offer a safe environment for the children to stay and enjoy many activities not available at home.
End-of-life care and the ‘special bedrooms` gives families a private area to say goodbye to their child.
Acorns also has a Community Team who offer support to the whole family 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week, including practical and emotional support for parents, special help for siblings and bereavement support for as long as it is needed.
Acorns helps children and families going through the unthinkable to make the most of every day and create happy memories. Acorns becomes a lifeline for local families who would face a much tougher challenge coping alone.
All of Acorns vital services are completely free of charge to the children and families who need them. Acorns relies on voluntary donations for the majority of its income. To support Acorns and help make a difference to life of a local child visit www.acorns.org.uk or call 0845 120 6892.
