Ahead of yesterday’s all too predictable loss to Newcastle United, manager Steve Bruce gave his usual injury updates but two players figured highly in that.

The long forgotten it seems, Libor Kozak and equally pretty forgotten Micah Richards were the players in question as I know I have to do something today following a lazy weekend, I’m going to avoid game stuff for as long as I possibly can.

So beginning with Kozak he is now out for the remainder of the campaign. The 27 year old has again been struck down with a serious injury and following his leg break the other year, this time round he’s undergone an ankle operation.

Given he wasn’t in anybodies plans it seems when he was fit on that front it’s no great loss, but his time at B6 has sadly been a nightmare for more than one reason.

Hopefully he can get himself fit and get going again although undoubtedly it won’t be with us.

As for Richards, he’s now back in full training having suffered with a knee problem. Six weeks ago we apparently put him on a six week rehabilitation programme to try and correct the recurring problem that he’d had and in praising his mentality, Bruce explained that things looked positive for the former England man at the minute and it was now about getting his fitness levels back up so he could compete for a starting spot.
