Paul Lambert has praised the awareness and the vision of our new striker Nicklas Helenius.
Speaking to the Official Site and harking slightly back to his performance against Walsall and his double assist, Lambert said of our new chap.
‘Nicklas is a young lad from another country, so he’s settling in. He’s a clever player, some of his touches have been excellent and his awareness is very good.’
Lambert adds that he’s a totally different type of striker to Christian Benteke which I think everyone can agree with, as Lambert wasn’t alone in picking out Walsall for some of the passes he did make, as it was one of the first things fans noticed about him.
Lambert also had some words of encouragement for Samir Carruthers aswell.
‘Samir has done alright and has been involved with us since we have come back. He’s a young lad learning a lot about the game, but he has done fine. He’s offensive, that’s his strength. There are a lot of good players in the side at the moment that he will have to try and dislodge. He has to fight to get into the side, it’s the same for every young player.’
Not sure I’ve ever thought Sammy was offensive myself 🙂
