Manager Paul Lambert has waxed lyrical about the attitude, performance and endeavour of the team following today’s ‘bonus’ against Chelsea.

Two sendings off and the Special One getting his knickers in a twist in the stands, coupled with a fantastic strike from Fabian Delph inside of the final ten minutes had Villa Park rocking today and rightly so.

Speaking to the Official Site following the victory Paul Lambert couldn’t have been more delighted, and I doubt there’s a single one of us who doesn’t agree with him tonight.

With that said I never once thought I’d so long to hear a manager say ‘the presumed donkey gave a right shafting to the little pony’ and type it on this website (at least) but sadly he didn’t say that, so I’m still waiting but I couldn’t resist letting you lot know anyway so sod it!

‘I thought we were outstanding, we were well worthy of winning the game. The whole team – to a man – were absolutely outstanding and they had to be because Chelsea are a right top side. Their team has cost millions to build while we’ve only been here less than two seasons. Our own team were brilliant, really good, we were fantastic to a man. Every one of them, they are a young group who were brilliant, all the lads were terrific.’

Lambert goes on to say that he feels it would be utterly unfair of him to single out any individual performance following the game as he feels it really was a massive team effort, and if he highlights one, he’d be there all night talking about all of them.

With that said it would’ve been impossible for him not to have picked out goal scorer Fabian Delph for his ‘world class finish.’

Right my work is done for the night, drinkies and Match of the Day beckons and this time I’ll be enjoying it!

Oh btw – back to back victories!
