Well, it is Sunday. We all know Sunday’s wouldn’t be the same if we didn’t have at least one paper or internet site linking Aston Villa to a takeover!
This week it is the turn of the Sunday Mirror. I don’t have the report in front of me, or the details to hand. However, they are linking us with a Norwegian businessman called Peter Vidmar. Unfortunately I did a google search and only came up with an American Olympian, so not much help there I’m afraid!
I’d expect a few decent approaches now the future of the club has been put in the hands of the merchant bank Rothschild’s. In fact, I would be amazed if we don’t have several articles talking up the quality of approaches that they receive from groups interested in taking over this great club of ours. Whether such reports have any substance will be a different matter, because surely such approaches – to begin with – would be done quietly and in confidence?
Anyway Sven said it, we all know it, and now the board have now admitted it, we are ripe for takeover and we need the investment to take this club forward.. Lets just sit back and enjoy the ride!
